MTBC partners with PDR Network to provide their EHR users seamless access to the latest drug and safety information

MTBC, a leading healthcare IT company serving providers throughout the country, announced today a new partnership with PDR Network to integrate PDR's suite of interactive drug information and safety services with MTBC's ONC-ATCB electronic health record (EHR). MTBC users will soon have access to PDR Network's updated drug information, safety alerts, medication adherence and product support programs, which will enhance their experience and further enable them to provide optimal patient care.

"Our partnership with PDR Network will allow us to further empower and equip our providers to make clinical decisions that are informed by real-time, easily accessible drug and safety information," said Stephen Snyder, President of MTBC. He also explained, "This partnership will also help us fulfill our commitment to provide our clients with an EHR that is clinically robust and fully integrated with our wide array of practice management solutions and business intelligence tools; yet easy to use and cost effective."

"We are very happy to have MTBC join our growing network now totaling 20 EHR vendors reaching more than 75,000 prescribers," said Andrew Gelman, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, PDR Network. "We understand the growing importance of EHRs in medical practice today and are proud to provide tools that enhance EHRs, increasing its functionality and safety in alignment with FDA goals for these systems."

Notably, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality reported that the number of people treated in hospitals in the U.S. for injuries resulting from being given the improper medicine or dosage jumped 52% between 2004 and 2008--from 1.2 million to 1.9 million. Partnerships such as the one between MTBC and PDR Network are designed to, among other things, help address this serious public safety concern by providing up to date drug information and support services to healthcare professionals within workflow at the point of care.

MTBC plans to begin offering the PDR Network integration to its hospital-employed and private physician groups during 3Q 2012. It will deliver this integrated module to its PracticePro(TM) and ChartsPro(TM) clients at no additional cost.
